长期从事果树果实品质遗传与改良研究。主要包括:1)果树果实品质重要性状形成的遗传机制;2)桃育种技术与方法;3)桃新材料创制。研究在Molecular Plant、Plant Cell、Genome Biology、New Phytologist等期刊发表论文100余篇,出版专著1部。授权专利10项,培育桃新品种3个。2024年获中国科学院“科研名匠”奖。
