1999年-2003年,在德国马普植物育种所从事博士后研究工作;
2009年-2010年,在美国加州大学河滨分校做访问学者;
2003年至今,在中国科学院植物研究所任职。

长期从事植物抗旱研究。主要包括:1)复苏植物耐脱水分子机制;2)植物逆境适应与调控技术。研究在Nature Plants,Plant and Cell Environment,Plant Physiology and Biochemistry等期刊发表论文70篇。授权专利14项。2023年获得首届国-中东欧国家青年创新创业大赛二等奖(排名第2)。
