现任中国植物学会蕨类专业委员会秘书长。在Molecular Ecology,Cladistics,Journal of Biogeography,Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution、Taxon等期刊发表论文15余篇。
长期坚持野外考察、物种调查和标本采集,利用基因组数据,挖掘形态证据,围绕蕨类植物铁角蕨亚目和水龙骨亚目及其代表类群水龙骨科和蹄盖蕨科等开展了分类和系统、生物地理和多样化历史的整合研究,分别建立了水龙骨科亚科新分类系统以及双盖蕨属和瓦韦属的属下新分类系统;基于群体基因组数据从进化角度上揭示了中华蹄盖蕨复合体的谱系分化和物种形成机制,体现了基因组时代形态分类和系统进化的有机结合。以第一作者和通讯作者在Molecular Ecology、Cladistics、Journal of Biogeography、Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution、Genome Biology and Evolution和Taxon等主流学术期刊上发表论文15余篇。
