1992年，湖南农学院毕业；
1998年，南京林业大学获理学硕士学位；
2007年，中国科学院研究生院获理学博士学位；
工作经历
1992年-1995年，在湖南省新宁县林业科学研究所，任助理工程师；
1998年至今，在中国科学院华南植物园历任助理研究员、副研究员、研究员。

长期从事植物系统于分类学研究。主要包括： 1）爵床科植物的系统与分类学研究；2）华南地区植物区系与资源研究。研究在Taxon，Plant Jounal，Phytotax等期刊发表论文50篇，出版专著2部。
